From the Chicago Sun Times:

Trooper allegedly told pair to take off clothes
June 19, 2005
BY STEFANO ESPOSITO Staff Reporter
When the man in the uniform told them to strip to their underwear, the young couple thought they'd surely encountered someone impersonating a cop.
But the man involved in a traffic stop near Northbrook was in fact Illinois State Trooper Jeremy Dozier, Cook County prosecutors allege.
Dozier, a 10-year veteran trooper, was charged Friday with four counts of official misconduct.
Bond set at $50,000
A judge in Rolling Meadows set Dozier's bond at $50,000. Dozier bonded out later in the day, said Marcy Jensen, a spokeswoman with the Cook County state's attorney's office.
Dozier, driving an unmarked squad car, came upon the couple while their car was parked along Interstate 94 near Northbrook about 1:30 a.m. Thursday, prosecutors said.
Dozier gave the 22-year-old man and 18-year-old woman a Breathalyzer test, prosecutors said.
Dozier told the woman she had failed the test and then asked her what he should do, Jensen said. The woman suggested Dozier write a ticket. But Dozier allegedly said he didn't want to put her "in the system."
Dozier then ordered the couple to strip down to their underwear, which they did, Jensen said. At some point, Dozier stepped back, and the couple were able to jump into their car and get away, Jensen said.
Thought he was imposter
"They couldn't believe it was a real cop," said Tom Bilyk, supervisor of the Cook County state's attorney's public corruption and financial crimes unit, which is handling the case.
The man called 911, and the dispatcher sent Dozier to take the couple's report at the Lake Forest oasis, Jensen said.
Dozier had never called in the original traffic stop and so the dispatcher was apparently unaware Dozier might be involved, Jensen said.
The couple drove away, eventually making it to the man's home in Wauconda.

Do many states still have the rule about asking for another officer? May not help here.

And being in Chicago, the couple was certainly unarmed, and at the mercy of what they thought was an imposter.

No way in hell would I stand for that... They actually stripped.

Under no circumstances would I undress or allow my wife to undress on the side of the road. ESPECIALLY if I was unsure of the person making the request... these people get the sheep of the year award.

It seems Officer Dozier has found himself a new hobby! I wonder if the judge puts his foot down this time with the bail?

State Cop is hit with new charge (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/northshore/chi-0506240116jun24,1,378314.story?coll=chi-newslocalnorthshore-hed)

For the second time in less than a week, an Illinois state trooper was charged Thursday with making a young couple disrobe during a traffic stop.

Investigators are checking whether he was involved in other such incidents, a prosecutor said Thursday.

Although Robert Podlasek, a Cook County assistant state's attorney, said he was aware of at least three or four more complaints about the trooper, "with something like this, I'm not sure people will be willing to come forward and say they were forced to run around naked," he said.

Jeremy M. Dozier, 31, of Beach Park was charged Thursday with official misconduct in an incident first reported in April. He already faces four other charges of official misconduct stemming from a similar incident reported near Northbrook on June 16.
