A buddy is selling a White ML in .45 caliber. He will sell it for $400. It is in good to excellent condition. It comes with $30 worth of quality bullets; $17 of powder, take down tools etc.....Everything I'll need for a couple years. It also has the silver barrel (stainless?). It comes with Lyman peep sites (one for close & a smaller one for distance), plus the original sites.
I think it said ELITE on the side.
So, is this a good buy? Are White's any good? Since I won't be ML hunting a lot, should I just buy an inexpensive $200 gun like a Winchester (CVA)?

That's what I would do. Don't tie up too much money if you're not going to shoot it much. Use some of the difference for shooting supplies and practice until the season starts.
