"(lord that girl on the lower right looks young... shouldn't she be in school?)"

ALL of them look young to me. But then, I am older than any two of them put together, so...

The woman you are talking about (and I will call her a woman cuz she has earned it) appears the be the "boomer", the only enlisted member of the crew. She is probably just barely out of her teens but she is the one who makes the mission happen. All the others do is drive her to work!

All of them look young, way too young. It's the first time I've ever wanted to call a warrior "cute" before.

Ol' Badger, do you really think that that comment is becoming of these ladies? I think they deserve better than that.

FPrice- it took me a few seconds to figure out what "boomer" meant.

"Hey Lady! Fill er' up"

Are they really in the AF? almost seems like they were at an airshow and were allowed to put on the equipment, or their dad's are the pilots or something. They do look quite young. I'm not trying to be a jerk here though, if they are the pilots then more power to them and I wish them the best...

One of the pilots looks very much like a friend's daughter.

Who went to Annapolis...

When I was in, there were more than a few VERY nice looking soldiers. Being a soldier doesn't mean you've gotta be ugly.

Note to self: Go TDY to Air Force base and see the sights.

Many capable women flying out there, probably a select few over Iraq. We had one female F-18 pilot in '99 over Kosovo, she was one of the top ten pilots in the air wing.

ABC TV was showed a picture of a couple lady A10 ground attack drivers. Did not know women did that.

One instance recently where being a male pilot came in handy. Remember the four engine EP3 Orion recon plane that collided with the ChiCom interceptor?

Plane made forced landing in Red China with no nose and damaged props. Also, I think they lost hydraulic power as well. Would not have happened if the pilots were not a couple of big burly guys in the cockpit fighting that air wreck all the way to the runway.

I have a picture of my brother when he entered the airforce. He looks like a child. I think the picture is for real. The rest of the web site/picture gallery certainly is no joke. These ladies are the real deal, warriors. God bless 'em. You guys are all knuckle dragging Neanderthals.
One final thought: OMG are they cute!

When I was in high school, I was thinking about going to the CA National Guard or AF Reserve to fly tankers or something.

I hate small planes!

Yeehaw now THAT is cool. Godspeed and give 'em Hell, ladies!!!

EXCELLENT Razor! Jeez that makes the picture even better.

I have nothing but the highest respect for these ladies and the job they're doing which is difficult and requires a degree of skill and training which I'll never have...

But. *snicker*Senior Airman 'Lyndi'*snicker* That rocks.

Oh and good call Fprice- you nailed that one; she's the boom operator.

The article states that Lyndi (the one in the lower right) was on her 17th combat mission in the Jan 31st flight that was covered. That is VERY cool.

A perfect example of why we're going win this war on terror. Those that seek to harm us think that half their people should be kept uneducated and in subservience, with little to offer but procreation.

We have young, intelligent people who choose to go in harm's way to make sure that their nation survives all those that seek to topple us.

As Kaylee said, a true nightmare to those that would destroy us, captured in a single image.

At my last command, we had all the personnel for an all female helo crew, operating in the Gulf. I just don't think any bothered. Two female pilots was common, though.

Another friend was among the first F-18 pilots over Afganistan. Her husband flies, too.

Any one who thinks women aren't up to this kind of job doesn't know what he's talking about. Some of the best pilots I've flown with are women.

How does that old saying go?

Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned.

I think Sadam has a BIG problem.

Go get 'em ladies, and my God bless and care for you!

if i didnt read the article accompanying the pic, i'd have assumed the two in the front are actual pilots and (my eyesight is really bad) the two in the back are their daughters. doesnt the AF do the "bring your daughter to work" like the rest of teh business world? :D
