I recently bought 300 unfired Lake City brass. There are some that have small dents in the case. How large shoud the dent be before I cull these out?

I would load your unfired cases mild, to "middle of the road" , to "iron out" those dents. If you stay with lower pressures, you can get away with using cases with some sizable dents. Where are these dents located on the cases?

they are located in the main upper body, not the neck

Hey folks,

I have no idea how "unfired" brass get dents in it, but, if the dents are small like ejection dents, I would load them as FatElvis has suggested and have at it. Lake City is excellent brass and will last forever if you use milder loads. I got a supply of about a thousand LC 30-06 cases with a late 1960s headstamp, and they are all still in use. I will admit, however, that my shooting is below hot levels, and most any brass will last a long time in that kind of use.

Best wishes,
Dave Wile
