Greeting's Folk's-

Well guy's and gal's we got our very first Smith & Wesson model 357PD
.41 Magnum in yesterday (06-24-05). For those that don't know, this
is a scandium frame gun with a HI-VIZ red fiber optic front sight. The
gun is brand NIB; but I don't yet know what the selling price will be?
In the past we have had the 325PD and the 329PD, and they sold very
quickly; so we will see what happens with this .41 maggie.

Ooooooohh I bet it's a really fine one. I'm a big fan of the scandium wheelguns. How about posting a picture?

The shop where I spend my money just got in a 57 Mountain Gun. High polished blue. 4". Price was 679.00. They kicked me out in order to clean up the slobber on the display glass.

I would have been tempted, but just picked up a S&W M431PD for my wife.

I hear that. Gotta handload for that caliber, though.

Neat little gun. I plan to buy one myself.

Just got a new 41 Mag 357pd. Love the gun. 1st three shots with some calm cast loads of mine - about 1" at 20 yards. 4th, 5th, and 6th shots - click, click, click. Firing pin not hitting primers hard enough to set off the rounds. Knowing ammo would be a question when I talked to S&W - I ran out and bought a box of factory ammo - ran all 50 through the gun - it only set off 17 rounds. What's up with S&W QC these days. Called them - was told a 4 week fix from the time they get the gun. S&W really didn't seem to care either. Owning a B-U-N-C-H of S&W revolvers - I thought all of the negative info about the newer ones was just hype from people who didn't know much. Never thought I'd say it, but that's the last NEW S&W for me. :cuss:

You've got to wonder what was floating around in the tap water back east the day that S&W named this one... ;) It seems like it could create some "Who's on first?" moments at gun shops.

The firing pin on my S&W Model 27 Registered Magnum PC from Lew Horton snapped before I got a shot off. The first round had a very light primer strike (looked like a round that came out of an AR-15 or Garand chamber).

A quick check revealed that the pin was gone! EEK...not good on a brand new $1000 gun.
