What's worse, a cry for help

So it's Sunday, and I have entirely too many guns to clean. The kitchen and living room reek of Breakfree and Hoppes, and I will soon be covered in enough of both to ensure *I* will never rust, at least.

Often, when I have to do something I don't look forward to, I try to think of something much worse. Then it doesn't seem so bad.

So please complete the following phrase:

"I hate cleaning my guns! But it could be worse . . ."

I could be in NYC, just looking at pictures of guns and huffing #9 to get my fix. ;)

Cleaning guns is fun!

It could definitely be worse. What if you had no guns to clean???

What could be worse.....having those guns fail at their most needed moment because you didn't clean them.

You could be in Calif.

You could have to do laundary.....I hate this.

You could have to cut grass.....I hate this more.

You could have to go to have a prostate exam...............need I say more?

Actually I tend to like cleaning guns. I pop a movie in and go at it.

I don't hate cleaning guns, but have never found it an exciting and fun-filled activity; discovering your guns have rusted, however, would be much, much worse.

You could find yourself transported to the future, in California, where the mere smell/sent of hoppes#9 ,or any other gun cleaning product is PC to allow the Police to do a NO KNOCK on your residence. :D :what:

Actually I love to clean guns. It's my therapy. Gimme a dirty gun, some jazz on the radio, a good cigar, and IBC cream soda....HEAVEN!

.. they could all be Ruger Mark IIs. :p Good one, pax!

I hate cleaning my guns; I don't get paid to clean my own.

Seriously, I consider it therapy also. It means I've recently been shooting, for starters. ;) And I don't own a MkII. I try to stick to simple designs that are easy to maintain, that is, milsurps.

Cslinger, I put in "Enemy at the Gates" if I'm cleaning Mosins, "Private Ryan" if it's the M1903A3 (Unfortunately, I don't have the interchangeable Weaver and Unertl set-up Cpl. Jackson had in SPR), and FMJ if it's the SKS. I wish I had "The Winter War", then I'd have my Finn Mosin and the Russian ones covered while cleaning. :p

If you get a Lee Enfield, I would suggest the following titles;

Breaker Morant. (Best for a Lee Metford or MLE MkI/I* Learn the meaning of "Rule .303")
The Desert Rats. (If you get a Lithgow SMLE)
A Bridge too far. (For your #4)
ANZACS.
Gallipoli.
The Light Horsemen. (For polishing that hooked quillion Patt. 1907 bayonet.)

:D

Oh, and on the topic of this thread: It could be worse, somebody could be shooting at you! :what:

It could be worse, I could have to clean all Blackpowder firearms...

I love BP guns, but they are a royal pain in the &%# to clean.
