Just got interested in making holsters and other fine leather goods.
Did the search on THR from other do it yourself crafts folks, and I was wondering if anyone cared to share secrets of success.
I don't have a camera, otherwise I would show a first success pocket holster.
The first one I bought kept moving sideways in too wide a pocket. I made a deeper and wider model which doesn't print even a little.
I tooled the outside, let it dry. Then I folded and sewed it. After sewing, I soaked only the inside half for 30 minutes. I inserted the saran wrapped 649, and I formed it with a butter knife handle.
Came out really a perfect fit. The outside is very flattish, and it looks as if it's a bill fold. The inside protrudes with the formed leather towards me.
Now I's gots the bug. Went to ebay and blew a ton on tools.
