My experience has been that they prohibit firearms, but they allow hunting with firearms.

Yeah, I know: what the heck does that mean? I don't know.

1) No, except during hunting season, if they allow hunting. Check www.nps.gov for the site you're interested in, call their #, and ask to talk with someone in law-enforcement. Also check your state hunting regs, but remember that generally the Federal parks set their own, and are more restrictive.

a casual read looks like you're probably out of luck for any of the NRA's in ************, and most National Wildlife Refuges (Fish and Wildlife Service) are shotgun-only areas, where weapons have to be unloaded during transport...
