A couple of weeks ago I sold my 590 and bought a Stoeger Condor 12 gauge to shoot clays with. Thought I would like the cheeaap O/U, but it turns out the Wingmaster I have been shooting all along is still the one for me. It is a 28" VR with Tru-chokes installed.
The Stoeger is a fine gun once I fixed the safety problem, and it is excellent for $280, but I don't like to shoot it as much as my 870.
I shot 46/50 on the skeet field with the smooth pump at twilight this evening.
Not great, but not bad. And there is something about out shooting the guys with >$2000 shotguns with a pump.

I still can't get the nagging thought that I want a 525, but ifn I did get one that wouldn't be for several years...

Give it some time, Anthony. It takes thousands of rounds to adjust to a new shotgun.

Your experience is not rare. People buy new shotguns and find they shoot the old one best. Some times it's fit, sometimes just familiarity....

I just don't like it enough to get used to it...
Don't know why...
