Gentlemen,
During early rebuilding of the M1 Garand Rifle Ordnance states the following:

"Under Barrel and Receiver Group...
Inspect rear of receiver behind rear sight for cracks or distortion cause by......" What ?

This is an easy one.
Have fun with this one.
Have a Happy and Safe 4th of July.

As I recall, there was an issue with recievers being too hard in the heel area during the early years of production. Later guns had the heel annealed to prevent cracking, I think.

Best,
Joe

Gentlemen,

The answer to the above quiz is as follows:

The Bolt Slamming against the back of the receiver. Steps were taken to correct this problem in a number of ways, but that's another quiz.
You are just about all coorect on this one.
