All,
I know nothing about A5s, but have always respected the reputation and following. I am currently shopping for a new hunting/clays gun in semi or sxs.

I came across a Browning A5 Light 12, Japanese make and 3 Invector chokes (please xplain Investor chokes). It appears to be unfired as the bore is spotless, there is still packing grease inside the forearm on the mag tube and there are no scratches inside the receiver. Some handling marks on the stock, but the wood is in excellent condition. No exterior marks except for a small blemish on the magazine knob.

Store is asking $500. What am I looking at, where can i get more info on humbacks and am I in trouble financially? I hear that A5s are the original "once you have one you will want others" like my beloved CZ handguns.

I shot an early (1935'ish, Polychoke, long-term loaner from my brother) A5 12ga. for the first time today. Wow, I really like this gun. 24 in skeet first time out- but a cracked forend that I need to re-repair benched it for my 1100. After shooting the A5 the 1100 felt a little less "great." I'm definitely hooked. My guess is you will love it.

$500 is in the zone for a good A-5 with choke tubes. Invectors are the type. Browning makes a couple different ones that are not interchangeable.

A-5s can be addictive. Fine shotguns.

Might be a touch high for a Miroku, but I'm no expert.
