Oh God, are they STILL dickering with that OICW? Very ill-conceived weapon. A detachable "rifle" portion with a 10-inch barrel, no iron sights and no stock. Plus, detaching the parts make the grenade launcher unusable.

Make the GL a standalone unit and ditch the submachine gun attachment.

You can make one for less than $200. You basically take an improvised fuel air munition (IFAM) and shoot it out of a potato gun. And no, I'm not going to tell you how to make the IFAM. ;)

If you want a thermobaric weapon I think you could pay the tax and have one. I believe those would be classified as a destructive device. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the NFA regs will give us a better answer.

Yep, it's a DD. Just like the M203. If you want one attached to a full-auto rifle like the M16/M203 combo, you'll have to use a pre-86 machinegun or join the Army.
