Reports are that two of the missiles fired into Kuwait today were SCUDS.

Interesting, isn't it, that Iraq apparently has these missiles, even though they're among the military hardware that is banned to it, and despite their protestations that they had no banned weapons?

Gee, makes you wonder what else they're lying about.

The nation-state equivalent of "That's not my bag of weed. I don't know where it came from (These aren't my pants either  )".

Greg, quit mocking my best (only) defenses, geez.:D

I thought they could have V2s but they had to be under a certain range???

And there is at least a rumor that the small aircraft downed near the border was a Cessna on autopilot, one of the means by which Sodamn Insane distributed chemical weapons during the Iran-Iraq war.

Who said those little drones weren't a potential problem again?

As for the range issue, Iraq argreed to destroy all missiles with a range in excess of 93 miles. They have, of course, violated that agreement.

Iraq was allowed to keep a certain number of SCUDS ( I think the number was around 20) and I think the range was 150 miles. I've heard that about 10 missles have been launched so technically, they could have been "legal" missiles that we allowed them to keep.

It is my impression that actual SCUDS have a much longer range than allowed... something like 400 miles. That would be strictly verbotten.

Nations aren't people, I know, but what will you people (note: PC here! Used people, not guys...) do when the majority prohibits your favorite "toys"?

What self respecting nation would allow an external force to determine their defenses without a fight, and/or secret programs?

That said...

I've got a brother over there, along with his kid, and I wish I were a few (read a decade or so) younger so that I could go join in. I think the war is right, given that we do not limit the application of force until all resistance is crushed. I was in at the end of the Vietnam thing, and, although I didn't have go to that location, I never want to see another "body count" war.

But given the trashing of the Constitution in transit, this "we're the good guys" is starting to wear me down a bit...

If you had shot your neighbor several times and a family member, I'd enthusiastically support the cops taking your guns away. Again, nations aren't individuals.
