how to turn down ammo?

a friend of mine decided to pick me up some ammo for my AR (to cover what he and his friends might shoot) for when we go out after our finals are over. I failed to mention "stay away from wolf" (because I forgot he was picking me up some).

so the question is ... how do I let him know I'd really rather not shoot that through my rifle? it's probably less than a hundred rounds, though, so all it really means is an extra mess to clean up afterwards ...

Be polite, "that's O.K., why don't we shoot this?" or "I'll buy this time, you buy lunch.":)

I have explained to all of my shooting buddies the reason why not to buy wolf ammo , the easiest example is would you pour metal shavings in your cars engine... then explain to them the damage it does to the chambers and feed ramps of the weapon , and how much time it takes to clean that *&^$*!!! laquer out of everything . if they don't want to buy the brass stuff I'll pitch in a few extra bucks so they will . Rule 11 My gun ,ifix it , i own it , i say what to shoot in it , or youll pay to fix it ! Oh and thats $75 an hour flat rate .

If you had an SAR3, you wouldnt have to turn it down. :)

Voilsb,
You'd better let him know or he'll buy more.
I'd just explain that Wolf is hard on weapons and next time buy either brand x,y or z.
If he's a gun owner, he'll understand. If he's not, he may be embarrassed about commiting a foux-pas; just be light-hearted about it.

And now the obvious answer:

Tell him you meant to let him know not to get wolf but appreciate the offer. If it is less than 100 rds. forgetaboutit!

I'd explain the problem, buy some for him to shoot, and then save the Wolf for an emergency. It is sealed with that red stuff after all.

You need an SAR3 to unload that unsafe ammo. (Through the barrel that is)

Wolf is all I shoot thru my SKS because it is so cheap. I got 500 rounds of it from a friend when I bought his P97DC and have shot a lot of it with that gun. Oh yeah, it leaves a heck of a mess but I don't mind the clean up after.
