1911 extraction problem

My friend recently purchased a Charles Daly 1911 pistol (didn't ask my advice beforehand but he really likes it). He is having extraction problems. He said that about every 5th or 6th round, the cartridge case is not extracted at all. He has to rack the slide and push or pull the case out of the chamber. Is this simply a weak extractor (that doesn't seem to explain the erratic behavior of it, however). He is using Wolf ammo (also didn't ask my advice first! :) )

Wolf ammo has a lacquer coating on the steel cases. This builds up in a chamber and makes the fired cartridge stick. Have him clean out the chamber with a .50 cal bore brush and some Hoppes. He should also check and adjust the extractor........those steel cases can cause problems there also if the round isn't being stripped behind the claw.

Switch ammo. I've seen individual guns run fine on Wolf and seen'em choke. Sounds like his is choking.
