The other .45s (not 1911)

First of all I like the 1911 platform. However I was wondering who makes other types of autoloaders in .45acp.
I am aware of the offerings by following companies:
Glock
HK
Ruger
Sig
Smith & Wesson
Taurus
I'm sure there are others that I am not aware of. What are they?
(The discussion regarding the SW99 in .45 sparked my interest)
Thanks

Wasn't there a Star PD that Ayoob liked back in the '80s as a backup gun?
Also, Mac 10 semi-auto.

a semi auto mac10.being a mac fan for some time, the newly made and redesigned rpb industriest mac 10s are well made, use 30 round unmodified greasegun mags(10 bucks each)and cost just over 300 dollars for a new pistol.just bought one and am very pleased.they also make a 10 round mag for them.

I've owned and shot most of the guns discussed and for the range, I love my Glock 21.
My Kimber Classic SS is awesome too!
If you like the DA/SA trigger, the Sig P220 is sweet too.
Depends on your likes?

KC, the Dan Wessons I've looked at are 1911s. Is there a different one?

The SIG 220 is a fine piece of machinery. I would think the Glock 21 is also but the grip feels like the fat end of a baseball bat to my mitt. YMMV

Other platform for .45ACP?
What other platforms? The 1911 was the original intended platform.
(just gotta stirr some crap a little, yanno)

My first choice would have to be the CZ 97B. I have only handlesd one in a store here in Germany, but feel for the money it is one heck of a pistol!
Do yourself a favor and give CZ a try.

Dont overlook the Tauras 945. Single stack, decocker, cheap available mags. I'd still be carrying mine but due to my short stubby fingers and hammy hands it hammer bit the hell out of me. Accurate and relatively cheap.

For the money, the Ruger P90 is a great SA/DA .45. Accurate, reliable, maybe not the most good looking gun.

The Sig 220 is arguably the benchmark by which non-1911 pistols chambered for .45acp are measured.
If I were in the running for a non-1911 pistol chambered for .45acp, that's where I'd start.
Though the HK compact might be able to sway me. I'd have to put more rounds through one firswt, though.

The 220 or the chopped version 245 are good, the CZ97 is my first choice...it just depends on if its a CCW or range gun...
Taurus PT945 is a wonderful gun...decock and Cond 1 carry....great safety.
Lots of good guns......as long as the trigger isnt schprongy :D
Shoot well
