I was wondering about how much do police officers make per hour (or per year)? I know degrees in criminal justice isn't required, how much does that help?

I know theres tons of factors involved such as where you are at, experience and so on. Im just curious how this relates to other professions? I know they aren't wealthy at all, but are they poor?

Any LEO's on the board care to discuss there financial situations? ;) (or at least there starting salary for there first police job would be nice!)

There are tons of police discussion boards that could answer this better. From my personal experience, I can tell you that it varies wildly by region, and by agency within a region.
