Actually, I've got to say that I agree with this...

I recall reading (I think here) about one police officer who fired his service revolver randomly into his backyard while sleepwalking, and another who held his wife at gunpoint until she was able to talk him awake. Scary stuff.

The link is blank for some reason.
Anyhoo, I've been known to 'wake up' while still dreaming and it takes a few seconds to realize I'm not in some weird, twisted room collapsing on me.
Thankfully I don't go walking around or anything.

The link is blank for me too. I trust that this is gun-related?

I used to as a child but have not for a long time. When I was in the Navy, sleepwalking was grounds for discharge actually. I have read if prone to sleepwalking, it is best to store guns and ammo kind of close but seperated and unloaded. The complex set of actions needed to load gun would generally cause you to wake up and you would still have reasonable access to gun if needed.

Well, the link WAS a story on sleepwalking, and how it is recommended that sleepwalkers don't have access to boomsticks.

There seemed to be a lot of emphasis on guns but there are many other things that a sleep walker can get into trouble with ! They bdo mention driving a car while sleep walking ! Just as dangerous as a gun.

I think they also recommended door alarms so other people know when someone is sleepwalking, and to put heavy curtains in front of all second-story windows to prevent a sleepwalker from punching the window or jumping out.
