What Year?

What year was my newly acquired Wingmaster made? It is a police trade-in Remington 870 Wingmaster. It is 2 3/4 only, 18" barrel, wood furniture and marked "SCHD" for South Carolina Highway Department. The serial number is 1221046V.

Phone Remington, give them the serial number, and they'll tell you the year over the phone.

I've e-mailed them as well. Takes a day or two, to get a response. They can usually give a year but not a month/day.

800-243-9700 is Remington's number. One thing, knowing the year is OK, but since there's no bad vintages, it's not that important.

Ok, I just talked to Remington and they said the gun was made in 1968.
