okay, so last night i'm flipping channels, and all thats on is stupid programming like 'will & grace' or movies i've seen dozens of times and that stupid videophone stuff on fox/foxnews. who the heck told them that we wanted to see 64kps video on a low bandwidth connection??? fire those idiots now!
anyways, the channel changer flips me to mtv and its their "news" segment, which we all know they put a great deal of effort and research into providing an unbiased outlook on any topic they feel its PC to address (just like BET was advertising that they'd have 'up to the minute coverage of the war in iraq!' and constituted a ticker banner on the bottom line of the screen every half hour or so, to announce "news" items that happened 12 hours ago.)
so MTVnews is airing an interview of a couple of kids in baghdad about the impending war (must've been filmed a couple weeks ago) and these kids are asked "if you could talk to the President of the USA what would you say to him?"
their answer is along the lines of "Why are you doing this to us? we have done nothing to you. its the government that is bad, not us."
the kids are asked if they remember the bombings in 1998 and they relate how terrified they were and how their family couldnt sleep and how it scarred them for life.
the cameras go into the kids family home, and its very nice. modern. and stocked full of goods from heathen americans. the kids have all the amenities american kids have. computers. boomboxes. playstation 2. xbox. posters of will smith ("he's a great actor and singer!"), backstreet boys, britney spears. they indulge in the american lifestyle. they watch american movies. they listen to american music. they admit they want to come to america.
(about this time, i'm thinking that if this interview is aired in iraq, these kids would be hung for their disloyalty.)
then the interviewer asks them about 9/11. they described their countrymens response to it as 'joyful'. they were happy that America was attacked. there was rejoicing in the streets.
the interviewer asks the kids their thoughts about 9/11.
with disgust and hate in their eyes, they replied:
"They deserved it."

Sounds like it could be interpreted as a good reason for war. Apparently these children have never experienced freedom and are incapable of the concepts of democracy.

Of course MTV wants you to think they are just like our kids, so our kids protest (ever notice the protestors seem all to be under 25 yrs old?).

I would gather the same interviews could be performed with American kids and they too would say war is bad (it is), and we should leave the Iraqi children alone (we will, to the best of out abilities).

the kids are asked if they remember the bombings in 1998 and they relate how terrified they were and how their family couldn’t sleep and how it scarred them for life.

asks them about 9/11. they described their countrymen’s response to it as 'joyful'. they were happy that America was attacked. there was rejoicing in the streets.

Great kids huh? Arm for an arm, eye for an eye, that's what my American children always say:confused:

at the very least the interview will be useful for immigration to flag these potential threats if they try to enter this country.

I've personally boycotted EmpTV a long time ago. Nothing but a bunch of garbage. :fire:

MTV is nothing but an outlet for pure socialist and politically correct rhetoric. Not to mention Rap racism and the promotion of violence against police and women.

Remember the MTV advertisement, "hate thought is hate speech", meaning if you don't think exactly THEIR way you should be arrested. Talk about PC Nazis.

I must have caught the second half of that program. There was a rather clean-cut dark haired dude doing the interviewing. Mostly it was in Kuwait and Camp Razor (?).

It struck me as 180 degrees from typical MTV tripe. The guy was quite sympathetic to the Marines and seemed to enjoy their company.

it was just a couple minute "news" segment announced by one of their older veejays, before going into some stupid hippety-hoppety-crappety video.

the odd thing is they ended the segment with the kids saying that America deserved the 9/11 attacks. i bet that unbiased angle cost some editor his job.

That was a rerun. I think it was "The Diary of Gideon Yago." Pretentious boob that he is. I was getting nauseous watching that show.
As for those two little terrorists in training, if their father wasn't a doctor, apparently making very good money, I'd say their attitude was attributed to the fact that they had a government rep there with them. But since their daddy is probably well connected, I'd say they were totally anti-American.

anti-american, definitely! but hypocritically they enjoy many other aspects of the american lifestyle. it would be like a member of the KKK only dating minorities.

Didn't I see that on Springer once?

Do they still play videos on MTV? ;)

i think so, but only once every 5 hours. four hours are spent on 'reality' shows where a bunch of people who normally wouldnt ever spend any time together are thrown into the mix and forced to 'bond'. the next hour is spent showcasing the lastest thug/gangbanger flaunting the law. then they show the same good charlotte video they've been playing the last 6 months. then they repeat the process.

i think so, but only once every 5 hours. And then it's only about 45 seconds of the whole video, while a little video window gets popped up on top of the music video where some screaming 16 year old teenie bopper screeches about how she thinks the lead singer of Good Charlotte 'Is, like, a total hottie! WOOOOO!'

Except for Mark Romaneck, the art of the music video is dead.
