Gentlemen,
This you will be happy to hear. I have been told in my last quiz that they are not like by certain people in the rifle group. So as of today I will not post anymore quiz questions on the M1 Garand Rifle.
Thanks again
Clancy

Didn't we go through this once before? The general concensus was that you should DEFINATLY keep posting the quizzes! :D

Yeah, keep them up. Unless it was a mod telling you not to, tell the complainers not to read the post. If they are bothered by it, they can just choose to not click on the link starting with M1 posted by eclancy.

Ummmmm...

If the post doesn;t violate the Forum Rules why should you fail to post. Why don't those who don't like you quiz posts read other posts.

I don't like all the post on this board...could we get rid of the...Oh, nevermind...

To my knowledge no Mod has ever said anything about these at all.

I rather enjoy the quizzes, as I have both a vast appreciation of history and Garands in general. I say let anyone who doesn't like the quizzes pound sand.

The minority that are offended DO NOT have the right to diminish the majority's enjoyment of your fine quiz efforts.

Clancy,

Your posts are in no way offensive. Don't be a baby and let some losers stop you from posting. There are many who enjoy your posts. I'm just trying to figure out if you are on the level and there are some guys giving you the business? I'll take you at face value though and believe you at this point.

Likewise anybody who doesn't like clancy's posts can start their own little thread over at APS (http://www.armedpolitesociety.com) where I am sure we can discuss it in a civil manner. If you won't publicly admit it there I say you are a bunch of chickens.

Either way eclancy keep 'em coming.

Keep the Quiz's!!!
I never know the answer, but I always enjoy thinking about it, and then seeing how far off I was from the correct answer. Who cares if some people dont like them, I would rather read one of your quizes than another repetitive debate thread.

I like the quizzes, too.

My only very small whine is that Clancy usually posts the answer before I can find it. But that does not diminish my enjoyment of the quiz.

///crybaby mode off :D :D

I don't even have a Garand (yet), but I enjoy the quizzes too.

If someone doesn't want to read them, they know what the topic is and can avoid it.

eclancy - I'm a little puzzled by your post. As jobu07 said at the start, haven't we gone over this once before? About the only reasons you should stop posting your quiz threads are: 1) you want to stop because you've run out of questions (unlikely); 2) you want to stop because you are tired of posting the quizzes; or 3) someone on staff has asked you to stop (ain't happening).

If you, yourself, want to stop, that is perfectly understandable, but sayingThis you will be happy to hear. I have been told in my last quiz that they are not like by certain people in the rifle group. doesn't make me happy, because you seem to think that everyone else might agree with those mystery "certain people in the rifle group". I looked at your recent quizzes and found no evidence of such. Did he/she/they PM or email you?

Keep up the quizzes.

Geez, if telling someone that you don't like their posts is enough to stop them from posting anymore, I've got a ton of PM's to send.

Re the Garand quizzes, I admit that I don't spend time looking for the answers, but I do read them. They're kind of a quirky fixture of this board, and that's part of their appeal. Besides, I finally got a Garand and started my Garand library, so maybe I coulda started particpating.

I like the quizzes, but frankly this whole thing reminds me a bit too much of one of my old girlfriends - the one who would say every two weeks, "You don't love me anymore!" and force me to reaffirm how I felt about her.

Of course, after a while I got tempted to tell me that she was right, if only to get her to stop saying such silly things.... :scrutiny:
