A few weekends ago I shot sporting clays for a bachelor party. It was my second time, and I shot 24 out of 50. I know, not that great, but I shot the best out of our group of five. I also was the only one using a pump. (Browning Invector+, 30") I admit, true pairs would probably be easier with an O/U or auto, but I prefer pump guns.

I was using an IM choke and the bulk pack Winchester #8 shot. I don't know any of the choke/shot size tricks for the different shots, might start making SC a new hobby though. I like the challenge!

Sounds good to me. As for using pumps, heh,heh,heh.....

Try 8s and IC for most shots,Mod or IM with 7 1/2s for long one and rabbits.

Thanks Dave, I thought about trying an IC, but my first time out I think I was trying too hard instead of just swinging and shooting. I missed quite a few.

The rabbits are tricky for me, this course only had one station with a rabbit, and I missed that bugger.

As far as using a pump gun, well my Browning just fits right. I love that shotgun. I just need to shoot it more. :D

Rabbits ARE tricky, that's why they tiurn up on so many courses. Try shooting right at the center ring on close ones, a hair further forward on the long shots.
Rabbits are slower than we think and slow up more each time they touch the earth.

And that Browning needs frequent exercise. BA/UU/R....
