I take care of the website for a friend's gun store, and he pays me each year with a gun. Year before last it was a Kimber Eclipse Target. Last year it was a Century G3 (he didn't have me do much work last year).

Anywho, his manager wants to talk to me about the website. There could be a little work involved, or a lot of work, such as a complete redesign.

I do this work for the shop on the cheap, but like to get an idea just what the value of the gun I'm getting is.

So, does anyone know what my buddy would be paying for a CX4, or for a Springfield M1A (or the various M1A models)?

Thanks much for any replies.

Dealer price varies by how much they buy from their distributor. High volume dealers (e.g Sportsman Warehouse, Wal-Mart, etc) will usually get a significantly better price than a small town dealer.

Other than that I really can't help too much. I'm not even really up on retail cost for those guns, nevermind dealer cost.

Normal wholesale is around 50% of retail, except in certain "low margin" markets, like computers and guns. :uhoh:

I think a good ballpark would be to split the difference and call it 60% of MSRP, or 80% of the actual street price.

If your 'friend' owns the store and you are going to do business with the 'manager' it would be up and fair for the 'manager' to show you what the gun in question is going to cost the store.
Your 'friend' the gun store owner should do this for you if the manager doesn't, if that is the agreed settlement of payment I would.
