USPCompact45 July 13, 2005, 03:33 AM Thanks for all the previous help.
I have another question. Does the springfield xd 0.40 (4 in. and subcompact) have a fully supported chamber for the 40 s and w?
Are there any hogue type (rubber) grips available for the springfield?
Would dry firing damage the gun?

I believe the answer is yes. At least that's what I've been told. That's why XD's do not KB. And Glocks do.

No. Any Centerfire weapon will not be damaged by dry-firing. But the use of snap caps wouldn't be a bad idea, but not absolutely necessary.
sigma 40ve July 13, 2005, 05:06 AM You have to dry fire the XD as part of the disassembly process. It won't hurt it. I have a bi-tone service 9 and a sc9 and really like them both. I have only shot a 40 with the 5 inch barrel, it was nice also.
