I can't find a serial number. It also has a Lyman receiver sight. When were these made?

The model 80 DL was made 1940-1965. The requirement for serial numbers came in, I think in 1969, that's the reason, No Serial Number. Your model came with a peep sight, The model 80 came with a open rear sight and was made from 1934-1940

I have a model 80 also, with a rear open sight but no front sight because a scope is mounted on it. It does have a serial number. Does this help in identifying when it was made?
