misc whining

...so i bought several thousand federal gold medal match (GM205M) small rifle primers and i'm down to the last brick of 1000. i have a practice high power match saturday and a Leg match sunday and scheduled practices the next two weeks in prep for camp perry the first week of august.

so i open my last box, pull out one of the little boxes of 100 and start to feed it into my priming tool. they won't fit. hmm... turns out, it's a box of GM215M---LARGE rifle primers. as luck would have it, ALL TEN boxes of 100 are large rifle primers. i triple-checked and the big box says GM205M SMALL RIFLE PRIMERS and all the little boxes inside say GM215M LARGE RIFLE PRIMERS.

normally, i'd be amused by these little cockups, but i need to score some primers fast.

and I don't really want to send them back, as hazmat fees are more than the primers.

It's a message from the collective conciousness that you should be shopping for another caliber and dies.

Or maybe it's just a foulup because somebody couldn't read English

I feel for you, those hazmat fees are for the birds. A similar thing happened to me a few months ago. I am stuck with some Alliant RX25 that I have no use for. I now have to get a rifle chambered in a caliber that uses it. It goes against my nature to waste anything.

25-06 (115 grains +) and 7 rem mag (150 grains +) respond particularly well w/ this powder.

nothing constructive to add about the primers... i haven't run into that problem myself, and sure am glad i haven't.
