I suddenly got a jones for one like the Serbu shorty. $5 AOW stamp. I can do that. Anybody got one? How'd they shoot?

I had the chance to fire a pistol gripped 14 inch 870 last Monday. I fired one round of full power 12 gauge OO buck. Ow. It was fun, but eliminated my desire for such a critter.

I haven't shot one but people who have posted a lot of info on them on www.subguns.com a few weeks ago.
Many of them suggested that the 20 gauge Serbu Shorty made more sense than the 12 gauge, especially if you want to shoot more than a few shots in an afternoon.

I've shot a couple of real shorties. An Ithaca Auto Burglar in 20 gauge and a Witness Protection 870 with a 14 inch barrel come to mind.
These are about as practical as lead balloons. Hard to shoot comfortably, and hard to HIT with.
If you lust after a hard kicking handgun, get a 41 Mag or larger. If you want a serviceable "Serious" shotgun, get a Big Four pump with short barrel and lots of ammo.

what about a serbu shorty with a full stock on it?

The full stock would take it from a $5 stamp to a $200 stamp, sadly.
