My wife, kids and I just returned (to Chicago area) from vacation visiting her sister in New York. We go nearly every year and, on our drive, pass right by Camp Perry. 2 years ago I stopped and got a 1939 SA Service Grade Garand, last year I stopped and got a 1942 Remington 1903A3 and this year...even though I said I wouldn’t do it...I stopped again.

The first pic is of my new-to-me 1918-manufactured Eddystone M1917 Enfield. Rack grade but only because the bore is dark. Gotta feed the habit.

2nd pic is the gates at Camp Perry for anyone who hasn't been there.

Last pic is the 1000 yard line for anyone who thinks 1000 yards isn't a very long way. (Those little white dots are very large target boards...on the left you can just barely make out the tan colored targets...which stand about 5'x5')

Next time you go on one of those "accidental" stops at Camp Perry, take me with you! :D

My brother goes there from time to time to shoot in the Garand matches. One day I'll make it there.

Nice photos. Please let us know how you like that M1917 Enfield. I was out there last year and regret not picking up a 1917 Enfield. I have thought about going back to that area this August to do a little fishing and a little spending at the CMP.

Too Many Choices!?

Where is this Camp Perry located?

In Ohio....

Exactly where in Ohio, I couldn't tell you since I've never been there, but I do know it's in the Buckeye State......
