A friend at work is going to GIVE ME :D A Tec-9 pistol. I've never owned one before but I do know a little about them. Are they any good ?

Heck, I'd even take a Jennings if someone gave it to me.
I'm not proud. :o

Tec-9s are excellent...
... for practicing malfunction drills : )

At that price, I'd take two. I could use the practice.

Why would anyone give away a perfectly good gun? ;)

You might be lucky enough to get one of the few reliable ones, but probably not. Then again, it does look pretty cool -and it's free!

check this out...this link is for a NIB tec 9:

this one is for a used tec 9, but it has THREE mags:

the seller for the second one is located up here in alaska. a new store i havent been to yet, but by checking out their website, http://www.alaskagun.com/, it looks like all their used guns (and some of their new ones) are just a tad bit overpriced.

the tec 9 is poorly made. but you can still get accessories and replacement parts for them quite easily. it is THE firearm of choice of rappers. glock is a close second.

The guy is more than a co-worker, he is a pretty good friend. He got it 10-15 years ago on impulse. He is not into guns at all and has no use for it. As a rule I would not except a gift but his attitude was "its better to hang on your wall than on mine". I might fire it once or twice for kicks but since its not my kind of gun it will just hang on my wall. If he ever wants it back, no problem.

I guess what you are saying is not to get rid of my M14 yet?

He also owns Byron(?) .380 which I believe is now called a Jennings.:barf:

TEC-9 huh? Well, in my humble experience, I’ve never and I mean never seen a TEC-9 go through an entire magazine without at least one failure.

But hey? Like Skunks sig line says: “duh, free gun”
