Favorite to shoot - ammo cost be Da**ed!

Let's pretend for a moment every handgun you own is as inexpensive to feed as a .22 revolver - ie ammo cost is trivial.
Which one(s) would come out for an all day range session, to send 300+ rounds downrange?
Personally, I'm a sucker for .22 caliber handguns, so many of my favorites already qualify. But if I had an unlimited ammo budget, my Python would certainly get A LOT more range time ;)

444 Marlin Contender hands down. Not sure if I could run 300 rds in a day tho', even if ammo was free.

Sheesh, I wish I could say something extravagant, but I'd probably just run 230 grain ball through my Kimber until one of the MIM parts broke.

You know most of my "favorites" are .22s so ammo cost is not really part of the equation.
I guess my most favorite ammo cost be damned is my Enfield No.4. .303 isn't uber expensive but it isn't surplus .308 either. I won't run corrosive through it so I have been running S&B at roughly 11.99 a box.

I haven't shot a lot of different ammo, but really my 9mm is still my favorite just for paper punching. The .40 cuts nicer holes but don't care for the snap.
My friend's AK however is a lot of fun too... :D

Favorite to shoot? My M1 hands down. Bring me truckloads of .30 -06, I'll shoot it all day!
As for handguns, my 1911s are the favorite there.

.45s and .357s get expensive to shoot all day. But I love 'em.

*ahem* I believe we are in the Handgun forum. Who mentioned the M1?? :D
For me, my favorite caliber of course, the .45 ACP.

It's a tie, between my Para Ordnance Colonel and my Ruger MkII with suppressor. I could easily spend all day at the range, shooting either of them.

Hand-loaded .38 Super because factory stuff doesn't even cycle the slide.
So hellaciously LOUD that even OTHER Open Division shooters complain, it will drive anyone else off the range! :what:

For handguns, I'd have to pick 45 ACP for my Colt 1911s. The $20 per 100 rounds limits me from shooting it as often, and as much, as I'd like.
For rifles, I'd go with either .223/5.56 for my Ruger M77 and two ARs, but .308 would be really nice, too, as I like shooting my SA SAR-8 (HK-91 clone).

I would have to split it between my .45 1911's and my 10mm Dan Wesson. Maybe a little bit of shooting both at the same time ala Hollyweird?

32acp out of my P32. I love shooting that gun. For longer distances, I like shooting 38s from my GP100. For even longer distances (50yds+), I like shooting 357s through that same GP100.

.357 since I can feed it through my revolver and my Marlin 1894C.
If you don't limit it to handguns my most expensive round is .303 British. Gimme free .303 and I'll really smile.

Toss up between .45 ACP and .357 ... More accurate with my .357s, but enjoy shooting my 1911s a bit more ...

I love to shoot my AR pistol(Ha! I snuck a rifle round in the handgun forum anyway :p ), but it gets expensive when shooting it together with the .45 and the .40. I would make sure my rifles didn't get jelous though  ...
So basicly, all my guns would get a 300rnds+ workout if ammo cost was not a concern  !!

For me it would be my Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt - lightly loaded cowboy ammo.
In a real dream though, my replica 1858 remington .44 black powder. I just need someone to keep loading cylinders and clean it after every 30 shots or so. :D

My Colt Mark IV race gun. I'd add a stiffer recoil spring and shoot all Hydra-Shoks, all the time! Course, I'd probably take all my .45s and all my .22s. :D

I'd have to shoot the Speer 210gr Gold Dot, Federal 250gr Cast Core, and Winchester 240gr Platinum Tip in .41Magnum through my multitude of .41Magnum handguns. Next would be ammo in .45ACP for my 1911s or perhaps .45GAP for the SA XD in that caliber I'm really getting to like. :D

9x18 Makarov or 7.62x38 Nagant.
For rifles...well ammo cost is pretty much nil (7.62x54R and 39)

I like fireballs. 50 AE has the most grin factor for me. Biggest problem I have is I need more upper body strength so I can shoot more before my accuracy starts going down the tubes.

Of the hanguns I own, 9mm, .357 Magnum and .45 ACP, I'd have to say that the .45 is my favorite to shoot. Talking strictly caliber, not the gun shot from, although that would probably be a .45 too

The ones I shoot like that now: my .44 Magnums. It's no coincidence that 95% of my handloading is for the .44 Magnum.
Runner up would be .454 Casull, since after 100 rounds, I'm usually bleeding, so no 300 round sessions for me.
Third place: .357 Magnum.
I never could warm up to .22s.

My favorite pistols to shoot are my 1858 remington replicas. I just HATE doing the clean-up!
After that I think that right now it would be my .45 ACP

Kimber Comapact Stainless (CC), Kimber Classic Stainless (also CC), also my SA milspec (HD).
300 rounds isnt that far fetched, I normally go through about 200 (although this is normally combining 9mm and .45).
Even though this is the handgun forum, both of my (title I) tommyguns are coming as well.
