Is there a dimensional difference between a 3" and a 2 3/4 only receiver?
I have some older butt stocks that seem to come up a bit short where they meet the receiver of my 3" guns. I'm talking about between 1/16" and 1/8" (3/32"?) here. These older stocks have not been modified.
When I say short, I mean that the upper rear of the receiver (along the top radius) is exposed but the stocks fit OK along the sides and bottom. Could they be from a something other than a 12 ga. perhaps? They are marked 870.
