I recently purchased a used S&W model 386 airweight that has a titanium cylinder. It shows alot of powder residue on the front and sides of the cylinder.

Since I read that you have to be careful on what you use on titanium, I asked S&W what they'd recommend I use. They said Nevr Dull.

Has anyone used this stuff before? (I could only find one reference to it when searching THR) I'm just wondering if I could use it on all my guns, both stainless and blue. It seems like a very mild abrasive, so I wouldn't think that, with care, it would harm much.

Never Dull, the chunk of cotton wadding soaked in mineral spririts in a dark blue can? I remember the days of never dulling pipes and gutters around the barracks for being late to formation or getting caught drunk by the duty. I hate never dull.

It's good for cleaning stainless, but will take the bluing off of steel.

Stainless okay, Bluing no.

I've used it on my stianless Colt Anaconda and my wife's S&W 629 (also stainless) to remove the powder rings in front of the cylinders. I've used Nevr Dull on my Harley since 1993.......on chrome and polished aluminum. The stuff sorks great on chrome, stainless steel, and aluminum, but I'm not sure about anything else.....I think K-Mart or Walmart carries the stuff, now......You used to only find it in bike shops.

yeah, wall-mart carries it. I used it on my v-star's chrome pipes, engine block, even on my truck toolbox and steps... works wonders, makes stuff look new.

never used it on a gun though, anyways its in the automotive section next to the chrome cleaner in a gunmetal colored tin.
