I'm looking at getting a house gun. My other two shotguns, a Winchester 1897 and a WWII Stevens 620 are great, but I can't depend on either 100% of the time.

I came across a pair of Ithaca 37's showing honest wear, but very functional. Price is $209 and $239 respectively. I love the 37's and they feel good.

I guess the question is do I pick one up or do I spend a few more bucks and get either a 870 Special Purpose or one of the Mossberg 500MILS that are going for about $299?

Thanks,

Jeff

Nothing wrong with the 37s. I've got 3 of various vintage and condition and all work just fine.
of course, nothing wrong with the others mentioned either.

Buy them both. Your family will be protected and fed for generations.
