I'm not a big sports fan although I enjoy attending ML baseball games and college and high school football games. I know a few people that I consider sports fans that can name quarterbacks and pitchers and give stats on their favorite players. I even know some people that can give stats on third string right fielders on minor league teams. I consider myself a sport shooting enthusiast but if someone asked me who was tops in a particular shooting sport I think I would come up blank. I know Rob Leatham is high on the list as well as that other guy, I can't remember his name. Anyway could you name any shooters if someone asked you the top players in your sport?

Yeah, there are a few.

For rifle shooting, Lones Wigger is the man.
The current record for Women's NRA style Bullseye pistol is held by Ruby Fox.

Brian Enos for IPSC, as well as Doug Koenig, etc.

The biggest problem is that most shooting sports aren't television/spectator friendly in the least. Watching a bullseye, high power, or three-position smallbore competition is about as thrilling as watching paint dry, unfortunately.

Tony Boyer is the reigning king of benchrest precision accuracy.

Billy Stevens, a gunsmith outta Brundidge, Alabama, won the Supershoot this year. He was shooting bullets made by Bart Sauter. Last year Ron Hoehn won it. I've got rifles made by both of 'em.

Rob Letham (sp?) is a buddy of Brian Enos, and another IPSC icon. And, who could forget Jerry Miculek (sp?), the king of DA revolvers?

David Tubb:

"David Tubb is arguably the best, and winningest, competitive rifleman in history. He has won (to date) a record eleven NRA National High Power Rifle Championship titles at Camp Perry, Ohio. That's five more than next best. In addition, David is an NRA Silhouette Rifle legend, having won nearly 30 open, individual national championship titles in all four rifle categories. David has also won seven Sportsmen's Team Challenge championships along with six NRA Long Range Rifle (600-1000 yd.) national championships"

I consider myself a sport shooting enthusiast but if someone asked me who was tops in a particular shooting sport I think I would come up blank. One of the big reasons is in our sport (hobby?) we are participants, not spectators.
