I found an 8 3/8 inch nickel plated S&W model 29-3 today at the local gun shop for $375.00. The gun is real clean and doesn't even appear to be shot. It's in great shape with not even a single scratch. Is $375.00 a good price for this revolver.

I need some quick advise because I don't think this revolver will be around long.

I think you answered your own question.

I'd do it, heck I just spent $600 on a 29-8 Mountain Gun 3 weeks ago.

Way too much. Give me the name and phone number of the shop and I will deal with them harshly.

What should the going price be for this revolver?

I wish that I could help you with a good figure, but I'm just not sure. If no one else pops up with an answer soon check over at www.smith-wessonforum.com. Someone there should be able to put you in the ballpark.

$375 "sounds" good to me. But dealers can see me coming for a mile away some days.

I collect nickel Smiths and that is a good price. The prices are very regional in nature, but that is good about anywhere. In many places, any N frame is $500.

About 6 months ago I paid $375 for a six inch nickel plated 29-3 in at least 98% condition. It was the best price at that particular gun show in Richmond, VA. If you really like that 29-3 and it is nice and tight, go for it!
