Let's dream a bit and imagine that we are allowed to own and carry anything in existence out there, or anything you can build within the reach of current technology. What would your choice be?

Visual aids would be good too

Garand, M1A1 Thompson, or 18" barrelled Remington 870.

Not necessarily in that order.

A Thompson Submachine Gun. I've wanted one since I watched Sgt. Chip Saunders carry one in "Combat" years ago.

Well since I'm dreaming, I'd carry a USAS-12 in 10ga 3 1/2 magnums  and I'd be able to take all the recoil effortlessly.

a .760 Kholibri. "The most powerful handgun in the System."

Obscure reference -- a line from a movie (a Dirty Harry (played by Mike Morrison (known to us as John Wayne)) analog) in an alternate history SF novel. Did he fire 13 shots, or only 12?

Dragunov carbine with muzzlebrake, 20 or 30 round magazines, laser/holo/night sight, light armor peircing ammunition, lightened and shortened, and complete with folding stock that allows folded use, perhaps with some sort of serious recoil reduction technology. Backed up with CZ75, chest harness, in 40, select fire, with 20 round magazines backup to 15 round hicap in it. Light backup of CZ PO1 with standard hicaps.
That's almost realistic, isn't it? I can actually get the carbine,(albeit a Romanian, not Russian), without the sights or the muzzlebrake, and I have the PO1, but CZ doesn't quite make the last one yet....

A small (2mm or smaller) caliber pistol with ridiculous MV. Kind of like an explosive round when it hits (projectile fragments amazingly well), but easier to handle.

hmmm...

-a da/sa 1911 with a decocker, chambered in .50GI, 8+1 mag.cap.
-Glock 18, but with a .25auto chamber, doublestack mags. first mag even with bottom of grip... i'm guessing about 20 round capacity. reload has a 30-40 rnd mag. for those of you not familiar with the glock 18, it has a full auto capability, onto which i would add three round burst.
-MP5 or Uzi across by back
-sawed off 20g. shottie, super short stock (about 8")

Or just an old M79, with plenty o' rounds  Whump.....BOOM!!! :D

If weight was a factor, probably a Serbu Super Shorty 12gauge, on the thigh. I'd definately not want to lug around the guns and ammo for a 12 gauge, .223, and a 9mm... but not taking that into account, I'd go with a Street Sweeper with a Colt Python on the hip and a Kahr K9 in the small of the back. I wouldn't see why I would need a rifle, all the confrontations I'd have would be very close. The 12 gauge can get some reach to if needed.

Carry? The only thing in Kansas I can legally carry is a friggin' toothpick.
Though I wouldn't mind a Governor Thumper (http://store.baseballcorner.com/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BC&Product_Code=AKA_M643&Category_Code=BAT_WOOD).

Though if this is a fantasy, 6 barreled electric mini-gun, in .22 mag.
Cut 'em off at the knees!!

DA/SA .45ACP semi, steel frame, decocker, night sights, 10+1, Browning-FN lockup, no controls on the slide, about the size of a J-frame. While I'm dreaming, lets have FN, SIG, or H&K make it.

Or a HK PDW, the 4.45 or whatever it is version.

Or an FN57 w/ FNp90...awsome guns in awsome caliber.

Heck, a UMP in .40 or 10mm...yum...10mm....

And eightball has it on the dot- Bizon! Awsome gun as well, helical magazines. Ide prefer it over the calico.

I'd carry what I carry now...a S&W M10.

The only long gun I could see myself toting as I go about my day-to-day business would be something the size of an FN P90. Everything else is cool for a day, but it gets mighty annoying having to carry a ten-pound tactical boomstick around, with lots of accessories to knock into doorframes and stuff. Those of you who see themselves carrying a decked-out M-14 as EDC probably haven't been in the military.

I donno.. just for the road warrior/desperado factor.
2 of them because a New York Reload would be faster than reloading a break action shotgun.

S&W 413, 3" mid weight barrel, 6 shot moonclips.
Basically a black anodized Scandium K frame fixed sights, with a blued steel cylinder and mid weight barrel. With some Ahrends grips.

Gun with the feel, look, weight, accuracy or the AR-15. I'd prefer M4 style. AK47 type reliability is a must. Round similar to the 308 but lighter grain bullet for higher velocity and lower recoil.

Polymer framed Makarov with ammo loaded similar to 10MM ballistics.

Or I guess I'd be happy with a couple G17's.

M41A Pulse Rifle.

If only real guns apply, I'd probably go with what I carry now for CC (a 1911), and an MP5SD5 in the trunk.

The XM8 in my preferred .308 caliber (7.62x51mm NATO)
http://www.hksystems.com.au/pages/xm8.htm

or

The SOCOM 16-308
http://www.springfield-armory.com/prod-rifles-socom.shtml

I'd settle for an HK G3KA4 (7.62x51mm NATO) though

My handgun would be my current everyday carry Glock 33 of course

Oh come on... everyone wants a scoped C-96 Mauser in a drop rig right?

OK the Bizon is pretty cool.... but aside from a sling how would you carry it? 66 rounds if 9mm Mak has to wiegh a bit.

Sawed off 12... the Mad Max solution.... hmmm.

Tank Girl's "Skin Reversing Rifle" (it's from the comics) maybe a Dangerball.

Pasadena .44 Auto Mag in a cross draw?

Select fire FN five-seven?

Grach (just because nobody has one here)

An HK USP Expert in 10mm, with the mag-catch reworked to be a button instead of a lever. Make the frame out of titanium or forged aluminum.

An all-steel Colt 1911A1 from 1924, blessed by the Almighty to never rust or break.
http://www.coltautos.com/images/1911a1_709427b.jpg

A Mini Uzi, full-auto, with folding stock and short barrel, but with an A1 flash suppressor and chambered in 7.62x25.

For my trunk gun, the Super Saiga: a SxS, twin-action Saiga in 20ga that ejects to both the right and left. Selector switch for semi, one barrel only; semi, both barrels at once; full-auto, both barrels; or full-auto, alternating barrels. Mag looks like a two-headed Beta mag, capacity of 20 rounds. Barrels are 14", chrome-lined. All interior surfaces are chrome-plated as well. Recoil spring is re-worked to resemble that of the Barett M82A1, instead of merely ending at the back of the receiver. Great for clearing rooms.

Well lets see, if i could carry anything first and foremost a Lawgiver would be top notch ( judge Dredd had it made)

http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=27306&stc=1

For the trunk....well a M134 Hand portable Chain gun would be great.

http://www.thehighroad.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=27305&stc=1

and as back up I will take Tetra Vaal

A 1921/28 overstamp Thompson with a C-drum (100 rounds) for vehicle carry.

Fpr portable carry, a select fire, folding stock UZI chambered in .45acp and modified to use Thompson magazines.

I have heard rumors that someone made an UZI lower frame that would accept M3 Grease Gun mags but I've never heard of one that would use Thompson mags.
