Not a black powder model, but I need some info on how to remove the cylinder on a Navy Arms Schofield replica so that I can give it a proper cleaning.

Any info would be appreciated.

Gee, you're being ignored. Well, I don't have one but it is on my list. (Too bad the list is so long.) So I will go 100% from reading about it in giving my answer.

I think the Schofield was like the other Model 3's in that a screw on the top, forward of the rear sight, needs to be loosened. Maybe removed? Then the cylinder should come off. Some of the several Russian models had a flat knob in place of the screw, so that no tool was needed. But I don't think the Schofield had this knob.

Am I right?

Right you are, Mr. Noir

Thanks for the response. I posted on several forums and finally got a reply from someone who actually owns one complete with photographs. On Glocktalk, of all places.

I've always wanted a top break that's strong enough to shoot full loads. The Navy Arms Schofield fills the bill.
