View Full Version : Ultra-sonic cleaners?

a friend of mine has an automotive parts cleaner that uses soundwaves to break up and remove dirt and crud. i've heard of people using them for handguns but what do you guys think?

I've thought about it and it seems to make sense, they also make smaller jewlery ones that should work. Sounds good in theory but I've never tested it.

Years ago, I used to work at Crest Ultrasonics. We had the best cleaners available. At that time, we used 111 Trichlorethane in them and they were vapor degreasers. Wow, what awesome stuff that was, but it is outlawed. We had units so powerfil, they would et your hand to the bone in 15 seconds...there were not available, just in the R/D lab there. amazing stuff...
