Saw a good looking .45 in the LGS the other day. It was marked Policia de la ciudad de Buenos Aires.
Guy working there said it was made in a factory Colt set up down there.
Anyone have a comment? What would a good price be?
Thanks in advance.

I have one of these -- the Modolo 1927 as it was officially called. These guns were made in Argentina on Colt machinery under Colt supervision. The quality is as good as any 1930s-era Colt, which is very good indeed.

I also have one, and I really like it. I use it for carry, bullseye, and IPSC.

I paid $500 for mine, because it had some custom work done already. Stock ones were going for about $00 when I got it (about 5 or 6 years ago). They're probably a bit more now, as they haven't been imported in a while.

I bought one--a Colt Sistema--back in '91 for $300 (I've spent a lot more tweaking it since). Excellent 1911.

Now all I have to do is find $425.00
