Basically it means the top edges of the chambers of a revolver are smoothed out so rounds slip in easier. Older S/W's with recessed cylinders usually only get a light stoning to smooth the entry a bit. Newer unrecessed models can get a more aggresive cut and polish that really speeds things up.
Usually cost in the $20 +/- range
