I saw one at my local store and was surprised to find in the manual that:

In "pump" mode the action can be locked back and must be released with the action release button.

Is this the case all the time? It certainly acted that way - not like a true pump at all, but rather a manual high-leverage way of extracting shells.

Is this right? It seemed to work that way in my hands, but didn't think to try it with some snap caps. Does it act as a true pump in that mode or must you release the bolt after every round?

Hi,

It's been a while since I used one, but from what I recall, with an empty weapon, it works as you have described in that manually pumping the action requires the action release to be pressed to move the handle back forward.

With a loaded weapon, however, you don't have to do this as I think the shell trips the action release so you can just run the handle back forward, IIRC.

Hope this helps.

That's right. Only on empty. Much like when on semi (or most any other semi), when the gun goes empty, the bolt locks back.
