You suck, man!

I wish I could move to Colorado and be your friend... :(

now if a desert war ever breaks out in CO, you'll be set to repel invaders!

5.56 NATO or .300 Whisper?

You suck, btw.

Mike

5.56 NATO.

I figured it made sense to buy the first 'can in the rifle caliber I shoot the most.

How quiet does it make the rifle? What kind of muzzle velocity are you getting with that?

Mike

Hard to explain how loud it is. With plugs in, it sounds just like a 22LR. It is OK to shoot without earpro, but a little louder than I'd like it to be to shoot without earpro on an ongoing basis. It is much louder if shot indoors. This is all with full power heavy Black Hills ammo or XM193.

I haven't chrono'd it yet. I'll do an "with" vs. "without" test next time I drag the chronograph out.

Hmm. I imagine the velocity would not vary much, but I mught be wrong. Interesting.

You rule.

If you ever feel the need to adopt a 27yo electrical engineer that is fully employed, let me know.

BTW, when did you become a Glockster?

I'm not really a glockster. For pistol commonality I'm shooting one at the ITRC this year, so I've been reacquainting myself with it.

You don't say? :D

Looks sweet! I got so many lawas against me keeping me from a supressor, plus the whole spending as much as a new gun for one, that it'll be a while.

Yeah, but does that thingy on the end eliminate the "sproooiinng" too? :D

Notice any change in accuracy or point of aim with the can? Nice :D

Zak Smith makes me cry!

How long did you have to wait for the transfer? (Yes, this is a mean question, I'm hoping to make YOU cry for once!)

Yeah, but does that thingy on the end eliminate the "sproooiinng" too?

i'm pretty sure the shot is still louder than the buffer assy.

I've never heard a sproing from a carbine receiver extension (ie, a carbine stock setup).

Haven't benched it for POI change yet.

Form 4 was mailed 3/2, cashed 3/9, approved 7/25, returned 7/29.

Too Many Choices!?

You're about 30 days ahead of me. I should be getting my Gemtech HALO in at the end of the month.

Haha, typical government work. They collect money ASAP, but approve you when they have time. I went to renew my passport. They cashed my money a week after sending payment. I got my passport about 7-8 weeks later. It's good for 10 years from the date you renew it. The expiration date indicated they started my countdown when they took my money rather than the day they sent it out two months later. I got shortchanged eight weeks; oh well.

Gemtech takes their royal time responding to emails. I am looking into getting a 30 cal suppressor to swap back and forth between my AK and my other rifles.

Zak Smith

Funny, I always get a response within about a day...

NOTE: e-mail is not the most reliable form of communication. If you do not receive a response within 4 days, we suggest that you telephone the Boise office at (208) 939-7222 where our sales or technical staff can answer your questions. Office hours are weekdays (M-F) 9-5 mountain time zone.

Hint taken. I'll call them tomorrow morning.

If you are in the market for a rifle suppressor, I suggest taking a look at JET also. Their cans are made from titanium, and thus are much lighter. My next suppressor will be a 308 model from JET.

Obiwan,

Can't you just incorporate and bypass the CLEO signoff?

I just gotta move out of Boulder county! Have you tried? (Or know anyone who has?) I wrote Pelle's office a letter saying (roughly) "I want to buy a supressor. Does Pelle sign off on the transfers?" and while I don't remember the exact answer, it was something like "The Sheriff generally agrees to sign ATF paperwork, sometimes needing to meet with the transferee." and then they told me who handles the paperwork at the Sheriff's office. If you're interested I can provide the full text of their response when I get home.

Was this corporate or individual ?

I am waiting on six tax stamps right now. I sent some of them in about the same time you did.

So I should be hearing something soon.
I bought the AAC M4-2000 suppressor for the ARs, but I just sent the Form 4 in a couple weeks ago. I will be lucky to get it back in time for Xmas.
