i've been shooting a glock 17 for a few years now, and could never hit anything with it. i just always assumed it was just my lack of ability rather then the gun. i tried just about every economy load out there, umc, wwb, blazer, etc etc and could never group. today i shot some 124gr rainer hp over a mod. charge of bullseye and bam! i got a 5 shot 2 inch group from bags at 25 yards. prior to this the best i had was about a 6 in group!
it was nice to know im actually not that god awful :p still a long way to go though. :neener:

Ill guarantee you that you'll do better at 15 yards, which is still good for pistol range. And I suggest that you might like 231 a little better too. I know I sure do!! ;)

231 is next on the list. i love 748 for my rifle loads, i dont know why i thought i should get away from win powder

I use Accurate Arms #5, with Remington 115gr JHP, and I get 2.5 inch groups at 25 yards with my CZ PO1. I like AA powders - will try #7 next.

I haven't ventured into reloading for the 9MM yet but I achieved this group at 25yds indoor with Winchester white box 115gr FMJ out of my BHP. :D

My favorite 9mm recipes for my Glock 17 (and other 9's) with plated bullets (like Rainier):
Light Target Load: (good IDPA round)
Berry's 124 grain plated round nose bullet
4.0 grains of Bullseye
CCI small pistol primer
Mixed High quality brass - Win, R-P, FC
OAL: 1.150"
1040 avg. fps
Factory Equivalent Load:
Berry's 124 grain plated round nose bullet
4.5 grains of Bullseye
CCI small pistol primer
Mixed High quality brass
1.150"
1140 avg fps
Bullseye burns clean in these loadings. No need to use a different powder in my opinion.
It took me quite awhile to master the G17. You must have proper grip and trigger control to shoot the pistol accurately. Start closer to the target and work your way back as your skills improve.
