August 9, 2005, 11:26 PM
Probably Sam, Erich, and me.

Anyone interested in lunch or otherwise getting together let me know, as long as it is cheap.

August 12, 2005, 12:23 AM
If I'm not working, I'll try to make it.

August 12, 2005, 11:18 AM
what's everyone bringing....I may want to bring some ammo to test out other's firearms, if you choose to let me...

I'll be bringing my....
Sig 239 (9mm)
SP2340 (.40 S&W)
M1 Garand (30 '06)
and probably my Ruger 10/22 (.22 of course)

August 12, 2005, 11:34 AM
He, I'll be there as long as I am not on call. Be good to meet some THR NM members.

August 12, 2005, 07:17 PM
Well, Nate, if you want I can bring an AR in .223, and I will have a .45 cal 1911. Could also bring a shotgun if you are interested.

August 13, 2005, 10:31 PM
I am likely going to put in an appearance. I would love to meet some more gun people; I don't run into too many at UNMH.

I will mostly be shooting my AR and my new Kimber. But I am also probably going to bring my P35, 642, P3AT, FN shotty, model 66, Mk II. All of which any of you are welcome to try out.

I am completely tapped out of .308 :banghead: at the moment but more than happy to bring my SA58 along if anybody wants to bring some ammo to run through it.

My girlfriend wants to come but she is curious if there will be any other females there. I don't think she likes the extra attention of being the only female on the firing line.

August 16, 2005, 01:08 PM
not sure if my wife will be there or not...all depends if she has to work or not :/

August 16, 2005, 01:12 PM
don't want anyone bringing something they otherwise wouldn't on my account....that being said I'll get back to you on the .308 for the SA58 ;)

August 16, 2005, 02:40 PM
27th still looks good for me. I'l try to drag along my M1938 Mosin-Nagant perhaps an Enfield and of course my Springfield 1911. Also I will of course bring my M1858 Remington converted to .45 Colt.

hey Nick I spent 10 years at UNMH. I work over at HHNM now.

August 17, 2005, 10:31 AM
I'll try to make it. If I can I'll bring a passel of revolvers. (more than a few, less than a plethora.)

August 17, 2005, 11:08 AM
Where is the city range?

August 17, 2005, 01:15 PM

August 17, 2005, 04:27 PM
Well, closing on the new house just got bumped, so we'll be moving that weekend instead of this one. :(
Dagnabbit! Dealing with all of this real estate stuff makes me want to go shoot something!

Whole Hog
August 18, 2005, 11:03 PM
Dagnabbit is right! We're moving my daughter into a dorm at UNM this weekend, and even if we were doing it next weekend, I'd be too busy to shooting.

August 21, 2005, 12:33 AM
Just purchased a mosin nagant 91/30 @ Ron's today so I'll be bringing that the 27th also. That means a big negatory on bringing any SA58 food cuz the wife has cut me off.

August 21, 2005, 01:29 PM
Dang! I'm visiting SIL in Sandia Park, going home 8/23, or I'd love to join you all. We bought some property just south of Santa Fe & will be relocating next year, hope to meet some of you all then. Might I tap some of you for the 411 on local gun shops & ranges?
Best regards, M2

August 21, 2005, 01:55 PM
It'll be nice having you in the neighborhood!

August 23, 2005, 04:02 PM
How will I know you everyone when I see them? Here is a picture of me so you know who I is ;) I'm the guy in the black jacket on the right....

August 23, 2005, 05:54 PM
Didn't you get the memo? We all are wearing pink bowties and carnations in our lapels. ;)

August 23, 2005, 08:01 PM
We don't do no stinking bow ties.

Pappy taught me a long time ago
never trust anyone that:

Smiles all the time
Looks hungry all the time
Makes a habit of wearing a bow tie.

I'll be wearing a shirt that says

NB: I think NMShooter's report of 1200 at the range might be a tad on the optimistic side.

We're all meeting at Dos Amigos on 4th for brunch at 11:00 (all are welcome - restaurant is just S of the freeway, they do serve alcohol for those who would otherwise be CCWing :( ). We may get to the range by noon, but I'd bet closer to 12:15, 12:30.

August 26, 2005, 06:30 PM
I just picked up a couple bandoliers of Aussie .308 so the SA58 is back on the menu.

August 29, 2005, 02:14 PM
Good time, guys - thanks for coming out! :)

August 30, 2005, 12:49 AM
Next time we have a private area to shoot in.
Mr. Comissar "stay of the concrete" and his evil minions won't be able to steal our brass!

August 30, 2005, 06:09 PM
never found everyone....I got there around 12:30 and asked several people if they were from THR but found none. So I just shot by myself.

August 30, 2005, 06:59 PM
Sorry bout that Nate,
We were pretty much down at position 50 playing with my newfangled target and breaking in an M1. Ponz and I were the last folks off the range. Mr. "Stay off the concrete" had to run us off with this tactical PA system:D

We will do it again.

September 1, 2005, 02:06 AM
Next time I would like to organize a carpool if possible.

September 1, 2005, 02:30 AM
Works for me, although by the time we want to get together again, it might have to be a postal shoot. Gas is sky high and climbing. Im glad my buggy get good mileage. 53.6 on this trip.

September 1, 2005, 12:15 PM
Holy smokes, Sam!

September 1, 2005, 09:12 PM
Same story as Nate.

We were there from 12:30 until after 2 at 32 and 33.

I asked a half dozen people if they were from THR during the ceasefires which really seemed to weird them out. I guess most people don't go to the range to be social. They were giving me such weird looks that I stopped asking and just hoped somebody else would find us.

It was still fun though, banging away at the 200 yard gong.

Maybe next time.

September 2, 2005, 09:46 AM
Sorry guys.

Send me an email if you want to get on the NMShooters listserv (which is where this shoot originated). We all met up for brunch (as I let everyone know up-page) and got to the range later than noon (as I also said would happen). It's a shame we didn't get to meet you. (I noted a "Molon Labe" bumper sticker down by the range tower - must have been one of you all. :) )
