The True Enemy Is From Europe

It strikes me that we've been overlooking one of the greatest threats to the RKBA because it is so close to us. There is a devoted, dedicated and resourceful group of foreign intellectuals who have made it their mission to destroy what they see as an outdated Constitution and way of life here. I've been arguing with them for years on line now, and I am left to conclude that it is impossible to change their minds.

Take these filmmakers, for example. All foreigners from Europe. All dedicated to destroying the RKBA:

Kari Skogland ("Liberty Stands Still")
Thomas Vinterberg ("Dear Nancy")
Klaartje Quirijns ("The Brooklyn Connection")
Aric Avelino ("American Gun")
Atul Malhotra ("Lethal Attraction: Why AMericans Love Guns")

That's just off the top of my head, and just filmmakers. This attack is across the board, from academia to journalism. The American leftists are certainly part of it, but only the Europeans have the gusto to attack the Constitution outright.

At the risk of sounding like a chest beating, knuckle dragging neanderthal - who give a damn what the Europeans think! Their societies have been in decline for 150 years.

I agree with 308, the only reason they insult the US this way is because they have had thier freedom of speech revoked in most of those nations and therefore cannot talk aobut REAL problems. Ya know like the Islamofacist horde that is invading them. Its illegal for a white person in I think it was Denmark to say something negative about an Arab or muslim without facing jail or a fine, and yet the muslim hate birgades are marching down the street screaming and chanting to the death of the west.

So what do they do? focus on somehting the liberal controllers will allow them to do, blame and hate american conservatives and gun owners. Ignore the invasion and loss of rights. It's so transparent it's sickening.

The Europeans, especially the intelligentsia, don't need RKBA; they have innuendo.

Let's turn it around. There are gun rights groups in Europe:

The UK has the NRA: http://www.nra.org.uk/

Germany has Forum Waffenrecht: http://www.fwr.de/ (nothing in English)

Switzerland has ProTell: http://protell.ch/

They also exist in France, Belgium and everywhere else in Europe.

The problem is these groups are marginalized. That creates a psychological barrier. Some of them (esp. in the UK) feel that their opinions are so far from the mainstream that it's hopeless and the best they can do is try to protect their rights to own BB guns. One thing that would help them is better connections with American organizations like the NRA, including organizing something like an International Gun Right Conference, to be held in Paris or Berlin or London.

If we write them off, we're going to be in trouble ourselves someday.

While ya all are probably right, wouldn't it be more productive to focus on the enemy within?
When in Europe, do as the Europeans do. Their culture is theirs. Our ancestors came from there for the most part because they didn't like what was going on and set up a different set of rules for us to live by. Imagine the chagrin those who remained behind felt then and still feel today.

What works for them is fine by moi. As long as they leave it there and leave me alone. I kind of feel for them since it appears that more of our culture finds it's way there than vice versa. Let them eat Grand Royales at McDonalds and watch old DALLAS reruns w/ dubbed voiceover, while we sit back and smile, firearm ownership safely locked up (or not) within our Constitution and breeding...
Provided our own politco's don't try to smother us with their own brand of self righteousness. :scrutiny:
For THEY can be the true enemy if left unchecked.

I understand where you're coming from Cosmoline, but I agree with the other posters that we should be a lot more worried about threats from within, like the Bloated Bloviator (Moore), the Wicked Witch of the West (DiFi), and others like Rosie, Alan Alda, Baldwin (any), and such. Sure, many of them get their "inspiration" from Europe but so long as we can keep the marketplace of thought reasonably free they will eventually lose out to the forces of freedom.

I believe you'd probably have more success teaching cats to whistle. There are, after all, some fairly intelligent cats running around on the loose.
