Anyone into large bore hand guns?

I would like a handgun in .50 Browning. As small a gun as one as can be.
Anyone know what the pressure ( psi ) is for them?
How much steel will it take to hold it?
I want this to be minimum weight. I am not concerned about recoil.

I don’t have any particular reason other then I don’t have one.
Any and all input will be appreciated.

I love big bore handguns. I have a mess of them.

That said, I think a 50 Browning crossed the crazy line. I would not wish to shoot one or be around when someone else shoots one. YMMV

Do a search on here and find the video of the guys shooting a Contender (or is it an Encore, I don't know) chambered in .600NE (with a brake). The really big guy couldn't even hold to it, and both of them looked in considerable pain after the shot. As potent as the .600NE is (900gr at 2050fps), it's nothing compared to the .50BMG (750gr at 2800fps).

Short of a hangun that weighed at least 20lbs, and had one heck of brake on it I can not concieve of even thinking about shooting such a thing.

I too love the big 'uns!. The .454 SRH and my BFR in 45-70 are most satisfying!!! I doubt going up a whole lot bigger really remains practical, tho of course - folks have ''played'' in the .50 BMG zone! :p

I have had some of the 45-70 revolvers they were fun. I saw a 375 H&H
revolver but did not get to shoot it. I think someone makes a 45-70
over & under derringer. That would be a hand full.
I would prefer the 50 Browning to be packable, for concealed carry.
I know, I know. I’m a big guy. I just want one. I shot one long ago.
I thought it had blown up when I shot it, the recoil was so much.
I am NOT planing on shooting it.

Yes, Winchester did. It is made of plastic and is for a very short round.

Ya gotta love that. My same excuse everytime I buy a firearm

Try concealing just the .50 BMG round itself for a day. Then, two of them. Work your way up to when you can conceal four of them for a week. Then fire a .50 BMG rifle. A real one, not some video game. Then ask yourself if this is what you really want to carry with you every day.

I am not concerned about recoil.
You will be when your wrist breaks. :cuss:

You do that...
