Is the 230grn a good choice for compact .45's (3", 3.5" & 4" barrels) or would one be better served with something lighter? If so, what?

I currently carry 230 gr in my officers model, but I have had good luck with the 165 gr Federal Personal Defense load. In my commanders I have never used anything but 230.

unless the 230gr proves to be more accurate, i usually loaded my commander or officers acp with federal 185gr because it was so accurate.
