My son was given a t/c .50 caliber percussion rifle,(hawken? ) and the set trigger does not 'set'.Looks like an adjustment screw between the 2 triggers, and it's pretty far out of the frame.Does screwing it in or out adjust the set triggger?
I ask because I'm not in posession of it at this time and he's not 'gunsmith inclined'.
We plan on shooting it soon. :)

Turning the little screw in will increase the sensitivity, you will need to turn your screw out. Its possible that the engagement surface on the trigger is worn out, I suggest you pull the trigger group out and examine it. If it needs replaced it should be covered under the life-time warranty.
