I recently picked up a Rossi M88 stainless steel .38 special snubby from a guy who needed some ready cash. Looks like it has rarely been fired. My question - how can I find out if this weapon is rated for +p? Rossi is now imported by a different company and was unable to answer my question when I called.

:o

lsutgr1974 - Oct 2003 - 3rd post! My where have you been! :)

I would like to answer this but can't tho - if this gun is effectively ''modern'' then I'd not think +P a great issue. Hopefully someone can supply the info you seek.

Suggest you contact M&M Gunsmithing @ 703-739-2150 and speak to Mike; they handle all warranty work for Rossi revolvers purchased before Taurus bought Rossi and set up Braz-Tech to market what few models they chose to keep. One is a clone of your Model 88.

Let us know what you find out, please...

The Model 88 IS NOT RATED FOR +P AMMUNITION. My wife has the same gun; the manual specifically states DO NOT US +P OR +P+ AMMUNITION.
