Always a big fan of the cheapo BSA scope I used to have on my old "revelation", I've been a fan of their cheap rimfire scopes. Felt it was worth noting, that their 2-7 variable power scope in rimfire is a real eye opener.

I hate the plastic knob caps, however its quite bright and very clear. Its not the finest optic I've ever seen, but for any glass under 80 bucks its pretty darned impressive. Will provide pics of groups later, as it started raining midway through my session. Anywho, theres my little update. For 22 bucks I'm totally blown away!

My Model 60 is one of my favorites. I have a fixed 4X32 on mine and it does just fine. I was able to get better groups with a 3-9X but I like the idea of a fixed scope that is designed for a rimfire .22.

My Model 99 (what the difference is between a 60, I dont know) sports a 3-x9 Simmons 22 Mag scope, which I paid a bit too much for but it works great so I dont mind too much. Look forward to getting another for the 882SS I just got.

Last weekend I pulled out a 4x cheapie (cheapest wal-mart has < $8) airgun scope that I had laying around, and stuck it on my M69 to complete the "scoped rifle under $100" motif. It zeroed, and I shot a 1" and several 1 1/2" groups at 50 yards. :) I was quite amazed, and thoroughly pleased.

If you aren't asking too much of them, cheap scopes are still fun to play with.

I had a 3-9X32 or 38 on my Marlin Model 60 and it worked great. Many squirrels met their maker as a result.

I kinda went the other way from BSA on my Marlin 60 - it's wearing a Trijicon Accupoint 1.25-4x24mm. Deadly accurate. I figure a good .22 is a workhorse/centerpiece of a game-getting collection, so it deserves some of the best glass you can muster. I would consider a BSA cat's eye version to be worthy of a run-of-the-mill rimfire, perhaps. Glad you had good luck with them.

Stopped by the gun store to pick up my M1 carbine(fixed, now to shoot it some more) and picked up a 60 too. Had a cheap Tasco 2xsomething on it that I'm not yet sure of, but the kaboodle was $40, so even if the scope doesn't work out, I'll have a scoped rimfire for pretty cheap.

Well, its not a paper report however. Sighted in and ready to roll, My Marlin has prooved its worth today.

My grandfather's home has been terrorized by Terrorist squirrels for awhile now, and I was recruited to deal with the issue. 11 rounds fire, 10 squirrels killed. CCI Velociters are officially, teh PWN. Range was from 25-about 40 yards and fired from some offhand but most from the bench. My cheap, variable mag scope was -perfect- zoom out to spot them...zoom in to take the shot. Die ye tree rats!

I just have a cheap Tasco red dot on my Marlin 60, and I'd feel good to go with it on squirrels out to 30 yards or so. And I'm a poor rifle shot.

Really accurate guns, especially for the money.

If you can find 'em, give the Federal 810's (now Game Shok in the 100rd box) a try.
My 60 loves 'em. Its reliable and accurate with the 810's, & CCI Mini Mags.

for $40 some years ago... and its a tackdriver...I'd post the results of my groups at 50 yrds with this thing, but every time I do someone calls me a liar. I may, however, soon upgrade to more power, as I'm a big fan of magnification. Would like to see what I can do at 100 yrds, and 9x isn't quite enough (noting that I have some vision problems.)

I use a Weaver fixed 4x on mine and couldn't be happier. Very accurate rifle, only down-side is the tendency to get very dirty.
